 ITEM DESCRIPTION

Original 1st printing (2nd state) 8&1/2 x 11" benefit* (for 1st Congressional District write-in candidate Phil Drath) concert/event flyer for Brazilian jazz guitarist Bola Sete (*replacing Joan Baez and Mimi Farina) appearing with the Grateful Dead and Quicksilver Messenger Service, along with speakers Ed Keating and Don Duncan at the Mount Tamalpais Outdoor Amphitheater in Marin, CA on 10/8/1966. (*show unconfirmed)

Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image ("PEACE") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 228 (plate 2.327)- this is the 2nd-state version of the image.

Thin flat stock flyer is in very good (B/B+) condition; there is a set of tack holes (all four corners), along with a light amount of handling wear/creasing, a tiny fingernail wedge indentation in the lower right corner, a nearly-invisible thin stress bend or two hiding within the image area and a few stray edge dings, otherwise fine.

An overall fine-looking example of this early Grateful Dead/Mouse-Kelley image from the Art of Rock, this particular version can be EXTREMELY difficult to find in nice shape.
