Original 1st printing 21&5/8 x 15" concert poster for Big Brother and the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing with Tim Buckley and Albert King (plus the Joshua Light Show) at the Fillmore East in New York City on 3/8/1968. *This was the VERY FIRST Bill Graham-produced show held at the theater, and the first to be booked using the "Fillmore East" name. Art by Charles Brandon* with a photo by Linda Eastman (McCartney), image is # 1 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore East series and is featured in the Art of Rock on page 159 (plate 2.99). (*AOR spells the artist's name ("Brandwynn") incorrectly) Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; aside from a VERY well camouflaged stray handling ding/surface smudge/pin-prick spot or two hiding within the image area (mostly visible on the reverse), a semi-soft stress/handling bend in the upper right corner and a couple of minor edge dings scattered around the outer margin area, it is an absolutely GORGEOUS example of the VERY FIRST Fillmore East poster.
