Original 1st printing 10&1/4 x 13&7/8" concert poster for the Kentucky Colonels (featuring Clarence White, later of the Byrds) appearing at Fugazi Hall in San Francisco, CA on 11/13/1964 and at the Comedia Theater in Palo Alto, CA on 11/15/1964.
Designer unknown/not credited, image (handbill) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 56 (plate 1.93).
Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in good (B) condition; there is a semi-pronounced horizontal center crease (item was folded in half at one point), along with a series of thin flattened diagonal bends in the upper left/right corners, a series of thin stress creases and a few tiny pin-prick surface spots hiding within the image area, a single pin hole in the top left corner tip, a couple of light stains on the reverse and the edges appear to have been hand-trimmed and embellished with a black magic-marker border (perhaps as issued, I'm not entirely sure).
VERY HARD-TO-FIND pre-psychedelic-era item from the Bay Area, this is the first example of this poster that I have EVER seen. According to the write-up in the AOR, the Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia had a hand in booking the Palo Alto show... how cool is that?
