 ITEM DESCRIPTION

Original 1st printing 14 x 22" cardboard concert poster for Jefferson Airplane appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at California Hall in San Francisco on 4/8/1966.

Design by Bob (Christian) Collins (not credited), image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 175 (plate 2.144).

Thick cardboard stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there is a semi-pronounced horizontal center crease, staple holes (bottom left/right corners), a few light surface stains and stray pin-prick age spots, a thin 2" diagonal bend in the lower left corner, a series of tiny thin hairline stress bends hiding within the image area, a couple of areas of light inking and a couple of light pulls (and a tiny bit of pencil scratch*) on the reverse, otherwise fine. (*this piece was originally owned by Greg Shaw ("Mojo Navigator", "Bomp Records") who wrote his name on the reverse back in '66)

A KILLER example of this VERY early (and somewhat hard-to-find) Jefferson Airplane/Quicksilver poster from the dawn of the psychedelic rock scene in San Francisco. Read more about the Airplane's activities during this period HERE:
