Original 1st printing 23 x 29" concert/event poster for the "Celebration of Life" Festival, scheduled to be held near McCrea, LA from 6/21-28/1971. (*event was canceled after 4 days) Designer unknown, poster lists appearances by the Allman Brothers, Alex Taylor, Amboy Dukes, B.B. King, Boz Scaggs, Buddy Miles, Ballin' Jack, the Beach Boys, Bloodrock, Canned Heat, the Chambers Brothers, Chuck Berry, Country Joe McDonald, Dixieland Jazz Band, Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, Edgar Winter's White Trash, Eric Burdon, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Ike & Tina Turner Review, It's A Beautiful Day, the James Gang, John Hartford, John B. Sebastian, John Lee Hooker, Johnny Winter, Leon Russell, Melanie, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Ravi Shankar, Richie Havens, Roland Kirk, Seatrain, Sly & the Family Stone, Symphony Orchestra, Voices of East Harlem and War, plus "20 More Artists, Giant Fireworks Display" and more* (many bands did not actually play, but some did- see the link below for first-hand recollections). Medium-thin glossy stock poster is in excellent (B+) condition; there are a series of tiny edge crinkles/creases along the left/right margins, a few tiny thin vertical stress bends hiding within the image area, a bit of curl to the paper from being rolled, a couple of very tiny pin-prick age spots ("foxing") around the outer margin area and a few stray pinch dings here and there, otherwise fine. Semi-uncommon festival item from a mostly-forgotten (with good reason, apparently) event from the same group of promoters that put on the Atlanta, Toronto and New Orleans Pop Festivals.
