Original 1st printing 5&1/2 x 8&1/2" concert handbill for NYC folk/blues/rock legends the Blues Project (featuring Al Kooper) appearing with the Great Society (featuring Grace Slick) at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 4/22-23/1966.

 

 Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 5 in the Family Dog/Avalon series (OHB-B in the Eric King Guide). This was the first Family Dog show held at the Avalon.

 

 Thin flat stock handbill is in very good (B/B+) condition; there are a trio of flattened thin horizontal/diagonal creases traversing the image area (through the center of the image area, along the top of "Blues Project" and along the bottom of "Avalon Ballroom"), along with a tiny pin-prick stain and edge nip in the upper left margin/corner and a few light handling dings here and there, otherwise it is a VERY sharp-looking example of one of the earliest Family Dog handbills.
