Original 1st printing 11 x 14&7/8" "tour blank" concert poster for Quicksilver Messenger Service.
Designer unknown/not credited (although I heard it was QMS guitarist John Cipollina), image (filled in with information from the 4/30/1966 (BG 4) show at the Fillmore Auditorium) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 145 (plate 2.45).
This particular version has a hand-written (in green marker) date/location, "May 6th, Beaux Arts Ball"; the show was held at Wurster Hall on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley on 5/6/1966 and also featured Latin All-Stars, John Handy and Bethlehem Exit (*thanks the the Berkeley in the Sixties blog for show info)
Thick flat index card stock poster is in decent (B/B-) condition; aside from the aforementioned hand-written dates) this example has a decent-sized (appx. 3/4") wedge pull in the upper right margin/edge, along with a smaller wedge pull in the upper left corner, a bit of toning/discoloration just above the center of the image, a few well-placed thin horizontal stress bends, light to moderate toning, a series of tiny pin/staple holes and pin-prick age spots, etc.... as you can see, this example was quite obviously pulled down from public display at the time of the event.
ULTRA-COOL and VERY EARLY Quicksilver piece, this is the first one of these that I have seen that actually had the blank areas filled in.
