Original 1st printing 14&3/4 x 17&1/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Jerry Pond at the Matrix in San Francisco, CA from 11/28-12/1/1966.
Art by R. Lyons ("R.A.L. Cards"), central image borrowed from Heinrich Kley), image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 162 (plate 2.108).
Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there is an approximately 1" chunk of paper missing from the top left corner tip, along with a series of tiny stress creases/handling dings and soft bends scattered around the image area, an approximately 6" thin diagonal bend in the upper left margin, a larger (almost invisible) soft diagonal bend traversing the center of image area a soft tape shadow just beneath "Dec.", a series of edge dings and a couple of pin-prick surface stains here and there, otherwise fine.
While this one may not sit at the absolute top of the conditional heap, it's still a very decent-looking example of this hard-to-find late-'66 Dead poster from the Matrix. Stream the 11/29 show (an extremely bluesy Pigpen-centric evening) HERE:
