Original 1st printing 23 x 28&1/2" concert/event poster for the Howdy Doody Revival (featuring Buffalo Bob Smith), a staged version of the popular 1950's children's TV show, held at the Fillmore East in New York City on 4/4/1971.
Design by Noah Slutsky (Howdy portrait by A. Leban), image is from an outside production company (J.K. Hoffman/Michael Brovsky) and is not officially part of the Bill Graham/Fillmore East series (although the show was during the same time period that BG occupied the space).
Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in very good (B/B+) condition; there are a series of tiny edge nicks/creases and a tiny tear or two scattered around the outer margin area, along with a 3-4" area of subtle moisture staining/discoloration and a few light warp dings in the upper left quadrant (going from the top edge of "owdy" up to the top margin), a few stray surface scuffs, tiny stress creases and handling dings scattered around the image area and otherwise fine.
VERY UNCOMMON oddball early-'71 Fillmore East poster from a really unique show.
*As an additional note of provenance, this particular example was given by BILL GRAHAM HIMSELF to a long-time BGP employee over 40 years ago! Read the New York Times review of the show HERE:
