Original 1st printing 14&1/8 x 19&7/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Oxford Circle at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 9/16-17/1966.
Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley (central image borrowed from Edmund J. Sullivan), image is # 26 in the Family Dog/Avalon series.
Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there is a moderate amount of edge toning, with a series of small pressure creases/indentations scattered around the outer margin area, a trio of small wedge-shaped tears on the skull's face (reinforced on the reverse with masking tape), a quartet of tape pulls and a bit of wear in each corner, a hint of moisture rippling, an extra-thin horizontal center crease, light handling wear, a series of masking tape reinforcements and a bit of odd horizontal toning (looks like a corrugated cardboard pattern- see photo) on the reverse, otherwise fine.
A VERY decent-looking nicely-aged/moderately used 1st printing example of one of the most iconic Grateful Dead images EVER!
