Original 1st printing 11&7/8 x 19" letterpress broadside/boxing-style concert poster for a series of shows held at the Matrix in San Francisco, CA from 10/16-27/1966.

 Performers listed include: country-blues legend Lightnin' Hopkins (appearing "through 10/16"), the Only Alternative and His Other Possibilities with Mimi Farina (10/18-22) and Jefferson Airplane (rehearsing their then-brand-new singer Grace Slick) appearing with Sparrow (unlisted) from 10/24-27/1966. 

 Artist unknown, the alternate image for the Airplane shows (art by Tom Weller) is featured in the Art of Rock on page 164 (plate 2.112)

 Medium flat vellum stock is in excellent (B+) condition; there are staple holes (all four corners), along with a hint of surface wear (a few tiny surface smudges and tiny pin-prick spots), a light amount of handling wear and one or two tiny stress creases hiding within the lettering, otherwise fine.

 FANTASTIC-looking early Matrix poster with a great "old-timey" look (you can actually see the indentations of the woodblock letters on the reverse). The Airplane shows were within a week of Grace Slick joining the band, read all about it HERE;
