Original 1st (clear "Bindweed Press" credit) printing 14&1/4 x 19&7/8" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin -her debut performances with the band) appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 6/24-25/1966.
Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley (who has also SIGNED the poster in pencil), image ("Zig-Zag Man") is # 14 in the Family Dog/Avalon series.
Medium flat vellum stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a set of staple holes (all four corners and in the lower right margin), a pair of tiny 1/2" tears and a thin vertical crease in the lower right margin, a few ultra-tiny pin-prick surface spots hiding within the image area/borders, a well-hidden pinch ding or two and a tiny edge/corner ding or two, otherwise fine.
An absolutely KILLER completely UNRESTORED ARTIST-SIGNED FIRST-PRINTING example of the one and only "Zig Zag Man", one of the most celebrated (and reprinted/bootlegged) images from the Avalon series.
