 ITEM DESCRIPTION

Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert/event flyer for the Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festival, held at Otis Spann Memorial Field in Ann Arbor, MI from 9/7-9/1973.

Design by (and SIGNED in pencil by) Gary Grimshaw (photo by Lisa Gottleib), the lineup included: Freddie King, Leon Thomas, Count Basie & His Orchestra, J.B. Hutto & the Hawks, Roosevelt Sykes and the Revolutionary Ensemble (9/7), Music of Detroit with CJQ, John Lee Hooker, Yusef Lateef, Charles Mingus, Jimmy Reed, Big Walter Horton, Ray Charles and the Raelettes and more (9/8) and the Johnny Otis Show, Ornette Coleman, Victoria Spivey, Infinite Sound, Joe Willie Wilkins and the King Biscuit Boys, Houston Stackhouse, Luther Allison, Sun Ra, Otis Rush, Homesick James, Lucille Spann, Mighty Joe Young with Carey Bell and Eddie Taylor and Hound Dog Taylor and the Houserockers (9/9).

Thin flat stock flyer is in FANTASTIC near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; just a thin vertical crease running along the left margin and a hairline thin bend/pinch ding or two here and there, otherwise it is an absolutely UNBEATABLE example of this VERY uncommon early-'70's Grimshaw item with a really nice clean signature.
