Original 1st printing (*"blocked") 14 x 22&1/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Charlie Musselwhite and Petris at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 5/30-6/1/1968. Art by Alton Kelley, image ("Memorial") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 179 (plate 2.160). Medium-thin flat index stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; a set of tack holes (all four corners, lower right and bottom center margins), light to moderate handling wear, a few tiny edge dings, a few tiny pin-prick splatter stains in the 7:00 area of the oval, a touch of toning and a light amount of moisture warp to the paper, otherwise fine. A very decent-looking example of this classic 1968 Grateful Dead image from the Carousel. *This is the "blocked dates" version with the days of the week (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) at the top of the poster blacked out with magic marker (a good number of the existing examples that were distributed and hung up exhibit this trait).
